Tier 2 Consulting Teams Up with STEMPOINT to Foster STEM Enthusiasm Amongst Youth
Stevenage-based software development firm, Tier 2 Consulting, is proud to announce its partnership with STEMPOINT, an educational charity committed to inspiring young minds about Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) subjects and guiding them towards rewarding STEM careers.
An organisation with a rich history spanning over 35 years, STEMPOINT focuses on enhancing the lives of young people across the East of England by promoting and sharing the benefits of STEM education. Trusted by schools and community entities alike, STEMPOINT has been a pillar of support for generations of learners.
Tier 2 Consulting is thrilled to play its part in nurturing the next generation by committing to regular contributions and actively sponsoring educational activities. Several members of the Tier 2 team have stepped up to serve as STEM Ambassadors, voluntarily sharing their passion and professional expertise in STEM fields. These dedicated Ambassadors will participate in STEMPOINT’s initiatives, such as workshops in primary schools and work-related learning events for secondary school students.
“As our business continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to give back to our local community and support exceptional organisations like STEMPOINT, which are making a significant impact in the STEM sector. Our shared mission is to inspire the next generation to pursue STEM paths, and by collaborating with STEMPOINT, I am confident that we can positively influence young people’s perception of STEM subjects and careers.”
Andy Kennedy
Managing Director, Tier 2 Consulting
Tier 2 Consulting is the proud sponsor of the first event under this partnership – a ‘computing for girls’ program. This initiative aims to bring together Year 9 students from various schools, providing them with a morning filled with inspirational coding and computer science activities. It seeks to address the gender disparity in STEM, with fewer women and girls pursuing STEM fields in higher education and as professionals. In the UK, only 35% of university students in STEM subjects are women. The ‘computing for girls’ event aspires to influence Year 9 girls’ choices for their GCSE subjects by engaging teachers, staff, and STEM ambassadors in showcasing that continuing with at least one STEM subject post-16 can lead to better prospects and greater career opportunities.
“We are delighted to partner with Tier 2 Consulting in our mission to raise awareness of STEM careers and make access to STEM more equitable for all. There are so many fantastic opportunities for young people locally – in digital technology, engineering and biomedical science to name just a few and we help signpost jobs, innovative organisations and role models so that young people can meet their full potential. We are grateful to Tier 2 Consulting for their support in helping inspire the next generation.”

Tier 2 Consulting is delighted to extend its support to STEMPOINT throughout the upcoming year, including continued involvement in events and the sponsorship of workshops aimed at inspiring the next generation to explore the world of STEM.
