Tier 2 Backs The Brompton Fountain Charity with Successful Fundraiser
The team at Tier 2 recently held a fundraiser for The Brompton Fountain Children’s Charity – a cause close to our colleagues’ hearts.
Held on Wednesday, 26 April, the bake sale fundraising event marked on the 10-year anniversary of Tier 2 Steve’s son Jack, who had life-saving heart surgery at The Royal Brompton Hospital.
In honour of this, Tier 2 raised funds towards the charity that supported Steve’s family during the difficult time. The charity relies heavily on donations and fundraising events to continue its essential work and continues to provide much-needed support and care to children and their families suffering from severe heart and lung conditions. You can read more about Jack’s story here.
The bake sale was organised by the Tier 2 team, who dedicated an entire day to promoting the charity and encouraging donations in the Business and Technology Centre (BTC), Stevenage, where Tier 2 is based.
The fundraiser exceeded all expectations, with the charity cash pot on the table raising over £200, and online contributions on the JustGiving page amounting to almost £360, the total raised was over an impressive £560 – and Tier 2 have vowed to match the total.
Tier 2 would like to extend a huge thank you to the event received an overwhelming response from all staff within the BTC who supported our cause, even passing delivery drivers – not forgetting the Tier 2 team, who baked a wide range of delicious treats to sell, alongside personal contributions.
The event’s success was a testament to the generosity and kindness of the people involved. The Brompton Fountain Children’s Charity will be able to use these funds to continue their essential work in providing much-needed support and care. A donation of £1,000 will expect to go towards will fund fibre optic lighting kits for use on the high dependency wards and the paediatric intensive care unit. This kind of sensory equipment makes a huge difference to children who’ve had surgery – encouraging them to touch, play and explore and can also be a calming relaxation aid to promote wellbeing and help with their recovery.
“It was truly heart-warming to witness the outpouring of support and generosity from my fellow Tier 2 and BTC staff towards the Brompton Fountain Charity. This fundraiser was a meaningful gesture to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone involved in this important cause, and it was just one way to say thank you to everybody at the charity. It was also a brilliant day to celebrate Jack’s anniversary by raising money for such an important cause. Looking ahead, I am excited about the possibility of more events like this in the future, supporting causes that make a difference in people’s lives!”
